One hair styling product that’s recently become more popular with many men is sea salt spray. Easy to use and quick to style. It will add texture and body without leaving your hair feeling sticky, greasy, shiny or hard.
We will explain everything you need to know about sea salt spray.
WHAT IS SEA SALT SPRAY?
Salt water is renowned for absorbing the natural oils in hair which is why so many of us get texture, waves and volume during our summer beach holidays. Sea salt spray is a spray formula with salt and additional conditioning compounds. It has been developed to recreate that "Just Off The Beach" effect on a daily basis.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SEA SALT SPRAY?
There’s no other product that works perfectly on all hair types. So, whether you have fine or thick hair, sea salt spray will make your hair look good regardless. That probably explains why it’s so popular.
For men with slightly thinning hair, sea salt spray is perfect. It makes fine hair appear thicker and adds grip and texture. This allows you to style your hair in ways you normally couldn’t.
Sea salt spray is also great for men with thicker hair. It will add texture, body and volume without weighing the hair down. It’s a really great option for men who want to style their hair but don’t want it to look like it has any product in it.
There’s nothing wrong with straight hair. But hair that fall completely flat never look stylish.
So, if you generally have flat or dull hair, sea salt spray is a great choice for you. It helps your scalp retain moisture while also reducing and absorbing excess hair oil.
For example, Brooklyn Grooming's Pilgrim’s® Matte Finish Sea Salt Spray. Made with a base of solar dried Mediterranean sea salt that adds a light hold and offers hair both texture and volume.

HOW TO USE SEA SALT SPRAY
You can use the sea salt spray on dry or damp hair. Use enough product to be able to work it evenly all throughout your hair - usually about 5-10 sprays depending on your hair length and texture.
For the best results: Spritz several times on to wet hair before styling to give a boost to the body, or alternatively apply to dry hair to better increase volume and create a matte effect.
Depending on your style, you may wish to work the spray in by hand to design your own natural wave and create a textured body.
You can add a styling clay pomade if you want a little more hold to keep your hairstyle in place all day but are still going for a matte finish. Combining different types of pomade with your salt spray can yield unique results, so experiment to find the look that’s perfect for you.
Sea salt spray is a hair product that every modern man needs in his grooming arsenal.
